SPEAKER_03

Hello and welcome to Hey, we like your pod.

SPEAKER_02

And we're gonna tell you all about it why tonight. Hi, Matt.

SPEAKER_03

Hey Don, how you doing?

SPEAKER_02

It's Don here, and I'm joined as always by my trusted partner, Matt Pickett. It's good to see you. Sorry, I'm late. For once.

SPEAKER_04

No worries, Don. No worries at all. I'm just happy to see you tonight.

SPEAKER_02

I'm happy to see you too. What's new? How's your week?

SPEAKER_04

Week's doing great. I've had uh a couple things that I've like knocked off my long-term to-do list at work, and uh, we have a house guest, one of my um sisters-in-law is visiting for the weekend from from way out of town, and uh, you know, um our our oldest kid is is getting interested in gardening, which is good because my wife and I hate gardening, so we're gonna have some nice outdoor stuff happening at our house here. So, yeah, things are real good right now, Don. How are you doing?

SPEAKER_02

I love that. Is she like into flowers or vegetables?

SPEAKER_04

She's really sad about vegetables right now, but thinking about flowers as well. So we'll see how it goes.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, some vegetables can be really ugly, just you know, you're gonna find out tomatoes, extremely ugly, but great to have around, especially those little ones that you can snack on. I'm not a big tomato person, but those little ones that are super sweet are fun.

SPEAKER_03

Love those.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, vegetables are a whole thing, and she's gonna want to get ladybugs from the garden store to keep the yep.

SPEAKER_04

She she has a couple of books she's been like reading about gardening and taking notes. She has like a little journal dedicated for it, making little like diagrams, and uh fortunately to her. Um, my my father-in-law, you know, her grandpa is really into gardening, has a major green thumb, and so everybody started like collaborating and talking. Nice, did like the first sort of phase of the actual gardening last weekend. So yeah, it's awesome. I'm really excited about it.

SPEAKER_02

So I love that. I love all that does like I do the same thing, you design everything, you plan everything, and I do seeds too. Is she gonna do seeds or just plants?

SPEAKER_04

Oh wow, some plants this year, seeds. She's banking for next year, basically, at this point, so because it's kind of like to do a lot of seeds.

SPEAKER_02

True, I suppose, yeah. We can do them pretty much a lot of them kind of year-roundish here, but yeah, it's better to do it at the right time for sure.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_02

All right, well, cool. Are you excited about draft night?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but it doesn't feel draft night to me since we're not picking. Um I assume tonight, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Um, might have news.

SPEAKER_04

I think for yeah, you never know. Crazy stuff can happen, but yeah, it feels like Christmas Eve to me while everyone else is having Christmas. So it's like, is there is there like some I don't like Eastern Orthodox, you know, Christianity or something like that where they have to sell Christmas the next day? It's weird. Uh it's a strange feeling because like you know, I'm following the the draft news. I have my draft tracker in a separate tab here. I'm watching flat updates from from uh you know um you know our port and uh and schefter and stuff like that to see what the next picks are, but it's all kind of like I don't know, it's like that um meme of like Squidward looking out through the window at SpongeBob and Patrick. That's what I feel like. It's like they're all having fun out there, we're just kind of sitting inside waiting for our turn. So you know, it's still kind of cool, I guess. But also, as we talked about a lot the last you know, several episodes. I haven't gotten as much into the draft this year because you know, the top 50-ish, right? Top 30 really are all ones it's like I can't get excited about them because they're not gonna go to us, probably. So a lot of the names that are already off the board, you know, at this point, the lions pick is in. We're gonna find out in a second at pick number 17 who they took. You know, as we're recording this, that's how far we in, it's how far in we are, and uh, like I know some of the names that have shown up already, but not all of them. And I think in a normal year, I'd be like, I'd have like a take on each one of them, I'd have opinions about the fit. And here I'm like, I don't know, man. Good for them, or whatever, you know. So maybe I'm a little a little blase for tonight, you know, as far as the draft goes, but I'm very excited for tomorrow and for Saturday, of course. So that was a lot of me babbling, Don. How about you? How are you feeling about being excited for the draft, etc.?

SPEAKER_02

I I was pretty excited um last week, but I've been busy, so I haven't really I mean the week flew by, like I can't believe a week has gone by since we since we saw each other. I know we talked about this. Um, but so I was just go and I don't have superlatives, I'm relying on your superlatives, which are always fantastic.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

I just put my draft tracker up, and while we speak, I one thing I was gonna do after last week, and I totally forgot was I do this thing where I copy paste um you know the positions that the packers are more more in need of. And then I I copy paste them from you know, like the the beast or something like that. And then I put a couple cells, you know, for checking them off when they get taken, who took them, right?

SPEAKER_03

And so you're like a little tracker, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

My own tracker based on what I want to know only, because all the trackers out there, it's like, oh, that's great, but what about this? And where does it fall? And and and then I plug in, you know, some of the folks that we talked about last week, which are already on the spreadsheets. So I have some spreadsheets that I go back and forth with. So I was just gonna do that, you know, for the next three days. Play around with that.

SPEAKER_04

I love that. That sounds comforting, you know, a good spreadsheet like that.

SPEAKER_02

It's comforting. Actually, I usually use our spreadsheet, I just do another tab.

SPEAKER_04

Smart. Keep it on. So you can see it like that, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

If you want to, you'll be like, what is this? Spreadsheet. Yeah, spreadsheets if you're just using them for yourself, you don't necessarily have to go through all the proper labeling and stuff because you know what everything means. So you might open it and be like, This isn't very impressive at all. But I know what I'm doing and I know how I'm sorting them and that type of thing. So yeah, so Maddie, with that, I think we should definitely hear what you have to say about this week's content. It's time for this week's superlatives. Is it though? Is it time?

SPEAKER_04

It's it's never too late. Um, so the thing that I'm gonna take for my approach this week and talking about superlatives is I don't I don't want to talk about the best content from this last week. Instead, what I have here is five superlatives talking about draft coverage for the last months, you know, leading up to this. Um, because you know, for as you know, I'm enthusiastic as I was talking about being for the draft, I really meant the first run, especially the top 30 picked, because I've still been, you know, eating greedily at the trough of the draft industrial complex, you know, um, yeah, content machine, and uh definitely have takes not as much about the prospects, but I have takes about the stuff that I've listened to and how much it's helped me, and you know what I've learned from it and what I've really enjoyed, and so on and so forth. So I do have, like I said, five superlatives about draft coverage over the last several months. Um, specifically, I need to be clear on this, though, specifically through the lens of Packers people doing draft coverage. Because if we're gonna talk about like who does the best draft coverage, like right, there's probably tens of thousands of people doing some form of draft coverage and getting out there some some format we could access, whether it's you know, something like um a blog post or an article or a video or a podcast, like there's there's uh thousands upon thousands of those things out there. I'm just talking about the people who are packers folks talking about it through the Packers lens. So, no slights to like like a Dave Rugler, who amazing who's amazing, obviously, you know, like a Nate Thomas with a Mina Kimes, right? So, because I'm not talking about the national people here, so anyhow, right? Uh that disclaimer said, My first one, Don, yes, is best explainer. Okay, so um, you if if you're thinking uh through this for a second, and who would Matt say is the best explainer? I think Don, you will actually be able to guess who this is because just last week I was talking about somebody who is really good at making things make sense to me in a way that most other draft people don't. Of course, that was our guest last week, Andrew Mertig. You are the best explainer about everything for the Packers folks. Um, yeah, that just the way he's able to talk about it. He he avoids like weird jargon. Um, he talks about things in ways that are stuck really easy to understand, and the way how he can talk about different prospects, and we heard it last week on our show, relative to each other and relative to like you know, within like a vertical board and a horizontal, like kind of idea, horizontal board and vertical idea that is. Um, it all makes so much more sense when I hear him talk about it, whether it was on our show or like on a podcast, because he had a series going for uh pack of day, which was really cool because of course he used to be part of the regular Friday crew with Kyle Fellows and Maggie Loney. Um then they left to go do other things, and so I was like, Oh man, we don't get those guys anymore. But then for Andrew to come back and do like a weekly, I think it's maybe a couple times a week, actually, some weeks, uh, series. It was uh it was such a blessing to have him back in there, you know. So, what are your thoughts on that, Don? What do you think? Best explainer.

SPEAKER_02

I think he's a fantastic choice for best explainer and many other good qualities, too.

SPEAKER_04

And good dude, he's a good dude, yeah. Yeah, don't should move on to my second one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, for sure. I I I was going to guess some other I I'm not gonna because I don't want to, you know, ruin it for you. But we have so many really good explainers, right?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah, it was it was tough to decide. I like I thought all week about these ones. Like, like, do I is it this person, and like even in the last minute when I was kind of putting it into our show doc tonight, I was like, uh, for example, like I'm gonna, I gotta, I gotta pick one, I just gotta go with it. Just trust my gut, you know. So, yeah, it's hard to actually honestly say who I think are the best in all these categories, but in the end, I'm sticking by what I'm putting on on tape here.

SPEAKER_01

I like it.

SPEAKER_04

All right, so my next one, yeah. Yeah, do this next one. Most thorough. This was one of the hardest ones to say conclusively because there's a lot of very thorough work being done out there by a lot of really smart people. Um, and it really it kind of comes down to with a lot of these, like, what's the flavor you like best? I know that's a thing, and we all learn things differently, but just the same. I will stand on the table, I will pound my shoe for Brendan Rupp on this one. Brendan Ruff thorough because his series unpacking future packers for Packers Wire. Every single one of those articles, I I don't know how he does it, Don. He must spend so much time working on these because it's not just your typical, like not just typical, sorry, not just your typical like rundown of the person. He gets quotes from from uh like coaches from people who who who know the you know the prospect from all kinds of stuff. He brings in statistics and things. It's almost like um the amount of information like Dane Bruegler puts into like stuff about prospects and the beast. Brennan's doing that like on a one-person basis at a time, you know, a couple times a week, but like, but more so it's like that stuff on on steroids. Um, every single one is a really fun read. Uh, you learn a lot about a lot of different prospects, and because it's unpacking future packers, he has it, you know, number 100 all the way to number one. There's a hundred of these things out there, Don, and they're great. Yeah, with yeah, with the mindset of like as it comes down to down to one, it's like the ones who he thinks are most likely to be drafted by the Packers. So, like each individual thing itself is good, but also like the larger series and the context for each like number as it progresses, uh, is also really cool. So, uh huge fan of that series, Brendan. Every year, it's it's so much fun to read, amazing work.

SPEAKER_02

Nice, yay, Brandon.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we had him on our show, I think, didn't we? We did um a couple years ago. Okay, trust me, we did.

SPEAKER_02

I I know now. I'm like, I'm looking, I'm looking. It's yes, I think we did.

SPEAKER_04

You talked about the process for that, it was fascinating, right?

SPEAKER_02

And we have so many good, we've had so many good guests too. We're so lucky, yes. Yes, all right. What's your next one, Matty?

SPEAKER_04

Next one, the third one, best approach. So, again, there's lots of ways you could convey information or do the analysis to to make it make sense, to parse out all this data that's out there to like convey information that's actually useful. My favorite approach of anybody who's doing this stuff is, and this should come as no surprise because of how thoughtful he is, how intentional he is, and even just every word he he lays down is John Meerdink.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I was waiting for that.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, I I love that the the way John is is wired, it's like he wants everything to be as digestible as possible. Most episodes are like you know, 20-ish minutes long. He said before he wants it to be like you should be able to listen to it on the way to work, and that's that should be how long a podcast is. I think that's a great philosophy, and so that that like eye towards how do I like boil this down to the most like simplest way to talk about it while still hitting a lot of great rich details. It's it's like a really hard balance to strike, and he he nails it every time. So when he's doing like uh draft prep stuff, the way how he talks about it. Um sorry, I saw True North's uh thing in the in the chat there. Um the way he talks about it, he he says, Let's talk about it's a combination of measurables and production. Uh, some of you see's like produce like a score from it and then like rank them on the score. So he'll give like kind of the rundown of each of the people without belaboring the point, but giving you kind of like the the nuggets that really can like stick, nuggets that stick. See a doctor, but anyhow, um I really enjoy the way how he talks about it, and especially because I think a lot of draft stuff, if you're just listening on a podcast and you hit like it's it becomes like a like a soup of names you're hearing, it's just kind of all run together. Um, the way how John talks about it actually keeps that from happening, they don't congeal together, they stay separate. Um, which I appreciate. Like, so I retain that a lot better the way how he talks about it.

SPEAKER_02

So huge that makes sense because a soup of names is what happens, especially when you're first starting to try to do your research for the track. It's like who are all these people? But yeah, oh well, that's good. That's good. I would I wonder. I wonder if he writes everything out before he says it, or if he just speaks that efficiently.

SPEAKER_04

I think he writes things, we should ask him. I think he writes things out, but I wouldn't be surprised if he kind of like comments on his own script as he's going, you know, and probably like revises things. Like, I don't know, he like writes it out and just reads a verbatim, right? It might be more of like a like a like a developed outline. I think it's probably how I imagine it. But yeah, I mean it's a good question.

SPEAKER_02

Well, and you know, because that's what we're here for. We analyze we, you know, we analyze, we we take note of content, whether it's written or oral or video or whatever. But um I would I was speaking to somebody today and I had explained something extremely well, twice today, extremely complicated that they didn't know anything about. Totally two different things. And I and one person said, You're so thank you for being so articulate. And I've never considered myself really that good as that. I I find that I'm not very, you know, careful or precise or um necessarily lawyerly in my um in my speaking. I could do better. I'm kind of like I go, I don't anyway. So I just wonder about them because you I think about a lawyer when I think about the way he speaks, very careful. But they're trained to do that, they're trained to think a certain way before words come out of their mouth. Sometimes lawyers are way too careful, and it's annoying if you know them on a personal level.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, sure.

SPEAKER_02

It's like all right, you know, just but maybe people can't turn on that time on and off that switch, you know. Maybe maybe you shouldn't. I clearly don't.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, we're talking about how people communicate. I think everyone does some amount of like code switching, you know, depending on the situation. I know I definitely do, and I'm really conscious of it. Sure, but you know, with John Meerdink, he uh he studied, I think, journalism and communication, right? I mean, he has worked in journalism and he does uh talk about his current job as in like a communication field. I think writing press releases, if I remember correctly, he's just talking about that the other day. But um, yes, I mean, like as a person who's wired that way, it makes sense that his communication style is so clear and his and it's of course he has that that voice. Everyone's talks about John Murdoch's voice for good reason. It's beautiful.

SPEAKER_02

It is, it's the best voice. It's fun because I think with the rise of podcasts and YouTube in being so much so common the last you know decade or more, you get people of all levels of communication styles, let's call it. I'm not gonna call it skills, but um from the most crass and even the most uneducated to the most sophisticated, you know, lawyerly like or professional journalists who are only gonna you know speak about something that they've checked, research, they're not gonna just put information out. It's just kind of interesting, but I think everyone will always gravitate to the ones who are well researched and better speakers and thought and have thought out their process.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, hopefully.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, there's a lot of noise out there, but I think you know the John Muir decks still rise to the top.

SPEAKER_04

Indeed. All right, you want my next. Yeah, you hear my next one, my next one here, Don. Yes, MVP, MVP. Okay, it comes down to it, you know, all these people doing all this draft stuff. Um, it's hard to say who's doing the best because it's it's like you know, like Dusty's talked about with like finding your niche, your niche, your niche, your niche, man. The word just totally lost. It's like how do you say that word again? Finding your niche, right? And like finding that lane and going going for it, like Dusty film guy, us appreciating other people's work and talking about it, right? You know, every there's all kinds of different niches out there, and so much of the draft content that's so good that people have kind of found their their way to do it, right? So, like, how do you say who's the MVP? Well, I think it comes down to seeing who is that person again within the Packers O Sphere, because if we went like the full MVP, it's Dan Bruegler, duh, but um, you know, for the Packers stuff, who's that person everyone's always talking about their takes? Uh, that person is always like who's everywhere contributing to like you know, the the discourse and to the the content. I think you already know Don, it's Justice Moscada by a mile, okay, by a mile. Doing his uh draft talk stuff with Tyler Brooke, which is an extremely informative and like very thorough podcast, and then also his like weekly shows with Andy. You know, you get him talking smart about the draft with two smart people, but like it's like sort of a different vibe on both of those, both really good. So I think Tyler Brooke and Justice, when they talk about it, it's more like talking to draft people, the way you the way like it kind of comes off. It's like if you are like a person who is like you know, uh waist deep in the draft stuff, you're gonna like really vibe with what there's what the way they're approaching this and talking about it versus the way how Justice and Andy talk about it. It's more like if you're a Packers fan, and even if you're not like as like up on the draft and stuff, you're still gonna like be able to follow this. So, this is to say, this is to say, this is to say that there have been some draft talk episodes with Tyler Brooke where I'm like, Whoa, you guys, I I need to do my homework just to listen to this podcast, and that's a compliment, just to be right, right, and less so with Andy, but still, you know, very much like okay, this is a lot of information, and just hearing these smart people giving good takes about draft about you know uh potential draft picks, potentially draft players. Um it's cool, it's good stuff. I love it. I you know, can't get enough of it, you know. Yeah, so MVP plus also plus also, of course, his work with uh Acapack and Company. I mean, he basically is is the heart and soul of it, you know. He he is the engine, he he is the captain. Um, and everyone else who writes for it is amazing and is kind of along for the ride on the justice boat, but it is for for my to my estimation, it is the justice boat. So um, hands down, justice muscada, MVP of draft coverage for Packers fans.

SPEAKER_02

Nice, very nice. I'm loving these, I'm loving these superlatives, Maddie. You're superlatives, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, yeah, dude. Justice was one of my favorite guests we've had in a long time, man. I know he was just so friendly and so like. I don't know. Such like to his vibe, which is so like so friendly.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I I mean he genuinely he genuinely seemed to to want to come back too. He seemed to have fun. I think he said he had more fun than he thought he was going to with him. I'm not mistaken, which is fine.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he said it was the most fun podcast he's ever done. No, he didn't say that.

SPEAKER_02

Oh he did he really?

SPEAKER_04

No, he did not say that. Oh that is that is fake news, Don. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, I'm like, I don't remember that.

SPEAKER_04

No, no. Uh well, I have one more, one more last one, then Don.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

That's sort of the um, since I I worked all the way up to MVP, it's like, where do you go next? Well, it's kind of the flip side. It's I'm gonna talk about my favorite anti-draft draft content. So, like, we've we've talked about the Google really dig into the draft now. Somebody who's really kept me entertained doing stuff that isn't about the draft, but is is drafty. You'll see what I mean. Isn't one person, it's three people. It's the Marvelous Monday crew on pack a day talking about Dan Kotnik, Camille, and Monty Camille's D and Monty more to give the last names up.

SPEAKER_02

So much, yes.

SPEAKER_04

What I love about what they've done is like everything they talk about is like in a draft format, like they had the like uh best players of the was it of the Brian Guten's era, right? And so then they did a like a like a round robin, uh like an NCAA tournament kind of thing and talked their way through it to get to like the best picks. It's still drafty, but it's not talking about draft picks. Um, and finding other ways like that to kind of like get into the spirit of the season without like digging into draft prospects. It's been really fun, uh, and their rapport is just it's it's super fun. They uh they're funny, uh, and you know have really great chemistry together. Uh, it's always fun to listen to the Marvelous Monday crew on the mar on the Monday pack a day episodes. Woof, there you go.

SPEAKER_02

Super, super three, super bright minds, too.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, yeah, yeah, and I'll add two friendly folks too, man. Dan Kotnik is one of the nice guys I know, even though on um Lombardi's bar we we all give him a really hard time. Still super nice guy, and uh Monty Camilla are amazing too. Uh, they've all been on our show, in fact, and all been excellent guests.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they have. They are who they they're and they present the way they are, like they're genuine, a genuine kingdom, they're genuine. Every one of them, genuine as can be, I think.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, very good on very nice, very well done.

SPEAKER_02

You put me to shame, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Shame, no, that's not at all. That's not at all. So, um, yeah, what what uh what other thoughts do you have about this or anything else, Don?

SPEAKER_02

Well, while you were doing your stellar job at your job, unlike me. In my defense, okay, I'll I'll do a shout out. It's non-drafty. Um, I don't know why or how or what I was doing for a couple of days where I could do this, but I finally caught up and binged on tooth and claw podcasts that I haven't listened to for months. So I just had them on for like two or three days straight. And that was super fun. I got all that out of my system, all those animal attacks. And one of the one of them was right up my alley because it wasn't only an animal attack, it was a bear mauling. Well, possibly. Or she died and the bear mauled her. We're just never gonna know. But either way, she's it was an animal, it was a death attributed at least partially to a bear, you know, a bear basically eating her. And um, which you know, a cat would do too. So it's not just cats. So I'm just defending Tosh here, wherever she is. Um, but so in addition to that, there was like a crime mystery involved because there was the possibility that she was red-rummed, and then the bear ate her.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, because she was one of these people who did not follow the advice of you know, uh, wildlife experts and the parks wardens and that kind of thing, and she was known to feed bears and interact with them on the regular, and then she um got very involved over time, fighting off or fighting to the extent that she could any hunting uh in her area. She ended up owning a whole bunch of property and then losing. It was just kind of a wild, like this woman had quite the life. She had quite the life. That's another podcast, but um so she was a bit older, I would say, like my age when she first moved onto this property in Virginia, uh, North Carolina. Uh uh, do you know where the outer banks are?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I've been there actually.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, okay, so right in there. Um, I forgot the name of the town. I'll send it to you. Mayor, no, I can't remember. Anyway, um, and so she's feeding these bears and she's fighting with people, and she was really making a lot of enemies, and she was making enemies of people who walk around with guns, right? People who are hunters and who enjoy hunting, and it's part of their lifestyle, and they don't want to be told what to do by some woman who feeds bears. And the story was that first the her first encounter with a bear is she she moved on to this property. I forgot how she acquired this property. It was that's another story, but um, she moved on to this property, she walks in shortly thereafter. She probably left the doors open, I'm guessing, and there's a bear in her bed.

SPEAKER_04

What?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, no, and she wasn't upset, she's like, Oh, and she just made their friends all the time from that point on. She somehow it left. I don't know how she got to leave, maybe buy food or whatever, but she wasn't evidently the counts goes that she really wasn't afraid or anything. So, anyway, it was really fun to catch up on because I had other things to do, and I had I can't remember what I had to do, or I had no hands or eyes, but I was listening and I was just listening to all their podcasts. It was great.

SPEAKER_04

Quick shout out, True North. And the chat Don watches animal attack videos for the same reason that people who fear small spaces spend time in the closet. Desensitization therapy. Yes, because of your animal attacks in your own home from your own cat, Don. Yes, right there.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's actually why I watch trials.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, that is, yeah, that is also desensitization therapy for you. That is why I watch trials. Oh, Trinotha's actually onto something accidentally there. Interesting.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, animal attack. I don't know why I just well, I think it was John Muerding who wasn't that recommended this podcast. And I'm like, I thought it was Dusty. I don't know why my brain said dusty, but I think Dusty would like it too. And um it for whatever reason I listened to it because it wouldn't be something I would normally I don't like anything gory, so sometimes it gets a little whoo. Um, but it's it's not just the animal attacks, because there's a lot of I've learned since that there's a lot of YouTubers and podcasters that do this, but the this one is really good because it's three guys. The the I guess you'd call him the main guy. He probably wouldn't appreciate that, but he's an a bear biologist, an animal biologist who kind of specializes in beer. So a lot of it's about bears, but it's so it's extremely educational. But he's a fantastic, unlike me, storyteller. He's he's a great storyteller, and so it's interesting, but then in addition, you have his brother and his brother's best friend, who's also his friend, who they all grew up together, I think, or they've known each other for a long time, you can tell the rapport, who are constantly butting in and they get off on all these crazy, crazy tangents, and it's just it's entertaining too, and their personalities are fun, and they even organize a lot of trips, like for their followers to go to India and look at Bengal tigers in the wild and that kind of thing. So it's just there's a lot to it and super fun. And true north is back. Dawn watches trial videos to understand how Matt got jailed. I will never understand why you're in prison, but we don't talk about it.

SPEAKER_04

Well, one of these one of these days I'm gonna hang that doggone flag.

SPEAKER_02

It's the flag's right there.

SPEAKER_04

I said to put it up, it's gonna put it up. So it won't look like a jail soon at some point, whatever.

SPEAKER_02

So, yeah. So, um, are you going to like watch video of any draft coverage or just kind of keep your eye on the tomorrow night?

SPEAKER_04

I would, but my kid has a dance, like a uh mini prom kind of a thing, basically. Oh cute! So I'll be away from the house because we like drop her off and go get uh dinner the rest of us and then pick her up and stuff. So I'm gonna miss a lot of it while it's happening. I'll be able to really watch it. Um sadly, no. How about you, Don? Are you gonna try to watch it tomorrow?

SPEAKER_02

I'll probably have something babbling on in the background, probably the athletic football show that's tends to be my go-to. Um, and then when it's over, of course, then I get back to all the punk podcast, all the dissection.

SPEAKER_04

It's gonna be the uh drinking from the fire hose next week, that's for sure. Over the weekend and into next week for a good two weeks, just like ah, so much to take in. It's gonna be glorious.

SPEAKER_02

We'll have a lot to talk about. So, are we coming back in a week, Matty, or two weeks?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know. We'll have to figure out that. Um, I think about it. Uh uh, we'll discuss offline, of course. I could go either week okay. We'll see.

SPEAKER_02

All right, well, true north, anything to add before we sign off tonight about animal attacks, uh, desensitization, murder trials Matt B. Let's call it comments, or or you know, the draft, if you want.

SPEAKER_01

Any of the things.

SPEAKER_02

Uh we missed Joe tonight. Maybe he's on. I we did invite Joe on, but his work schedule is not conducive to our schedules. Right.

SPEAKER_04

His work schedule is weird, and you know, he's a big like draft guy, so he his head is in the draft right now.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, he's a busy man, busy with all that.

SPEAKER_04

So, all right. Well, and there's true north's final thought. There we go. Don't actually drink for water hoses. Good idea, good life lesson, folks. All right, on.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because there could be ants in there, you know. Ants like to go in hoses. I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_01

That's awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I I took my hose out the other day, and it's like, wow, because there's water in there, and they want the water. Well, at least here, because it's really you know dry here and they they're going for the water. So I'm like, Yeah, I'm gonna move my I'm not putting my hose where I had it. I'm moving it. I don't want ants in the house. So it was near the door, but it was in the house. Okay, never mind. We don't want ants.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I hate ants so much. Uh yeah, okay, Don. Well, anything else or should I bring it home?

SPEAKER_02

Hey, Maddie, let's bring her home.
